Meet the Owners

Roy and Shavon Johnson’s story began in 2001, when they first connected on an early social media platform called Black Planet. Shavon spotted Roy’s profile and sent him a message—what we’d now call “sliding into the DMs.” Roy replied, and from that moment forward, their journey together unfolded. They married in July 2010 and have one daughter, Day’Sha. Together, they lovingly call their trio “The Johnson Tribe.”

Although many assume the vision of an event venue came from Shavon, it was actually Roy’s idea. After hosting numerous family celebrations, Roy recognized the need for more event spaces in their hometown of Chesapeake, VA. He describes himself as the “Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis” of the duo—the one who creates the sound and vision—while Shavon plays the “Janet,” bringing the ideas to life as the face of the brand. Together, they are truly a dynamic team.

From that vision, Euphoric Moments Event Venue was born—designed to provide the 757 with a place where memories can be made and important moments celebrated. The word Euphoric means a state of well-being, joy, excitement, or confidence—and that is exactly what The Johnson Tribe hopes every guest feels when stepping into their space.
